Fort Hays was a U.S. Army Post that was once known as Fort Fletcher, and was active from 1865-1889, used during the American Indian Wars. It opened as a historical park in 1929, and is believed to be haunted by a ghost known as the Blue Light Lady. Dating back to 1842, this fort was originally called Camp Scott in honor of General Winfield Scott. It was restored to a historic site and is believed to be quite haunted. Stories say this army plant is haunted by an explosion victim. The incident took place in the late 1980s and when the plant was reopened for the Persian Gulf War in the 1990s, workers had nightmares, saw visions, and even heard the phantom sound of bicycle bells once used as transportation by supervisors throughout the plant.
